This past week I worked on two in-game features: an element for the late game that required some VFX, and a feature that is sort of an updated/modified feature from Starcom: Nexus.
The latter took the most time: it was one of those features where I had an idea how I wanted it to work, but the first implementation didn’t feel quite right, so I iterated on it multiple times, gradually narrowing in on what I hope is close to its final version.
I mentioned last week that I’ve been communicating with some prospective artists/modelers to create new ship modules. After Povilas moved on to his new job, I was worried I’d have difficulty finding modelers who understood the technical requirements of the custom ship building system. But their initial efforts are promising, so I’m excited about that.
