Short update this week as most of the work was continuing work on a new story segment, so there’s not much to say about it without spoilers. Sometime in the next few days I plan to do a full playthrough and see what’s needed to get the changes into the next opt-in beta. My tentative goal is to have the new build ready near the start of the week after next (i.e., around 3/7), which seems like a realistic target.
Tasks done since the last update:
- New anomalies, content and side quests related to the new story segment
- Changed faction starting resource quantity algorithm and distribution
- Refactored NPC attack drone system to allow for more varied and interesting attack strategies
- Reviewed and updated the game’s story doc to reflect changes since Betelgeuse
